I have completed my second pair of pants using M5239 I do like view A a bit better because I have more room for my legs, and I think it is a much more flattering style for my body type. I do think the older I get the more I would like to hide some of the “fluff” and this pair of pants do a great job. It even look good when I’m sitting down.

I have used an Ambiance lining, which give the pants a really nice feel, and I see it help a bit to hide the “pantie line” not a bad thing, and it was easy to add the lining to the pants.

Here is a walk down Memory Lane – Let me know if you would like to sew a pair of pants for yourself, we have a great group of ladies sewing up a storm in our private class, and they are so pleased with the results they are getting. Visit our forum for more photo’s and ideas on how to get a great fit. Click here to go the Forum

Your fabric is probably the most important ingredient for your pants project.

There is so many choices when you visit the Bottom Weights section in your fabric store but which one will you choose? I have looked at each pants pattern (thanks to the internet this was easy to do) from all the different companies and there are only a few names that come-up every time I looked at the suggested fabric section.

But here is the ones you could choose with confidence if you are sewing up your pants:

Gabardine
Wool Crepe
Poplin
Wool
Wool Blends
Medium- weight Linen
Linen Blends

In the following video you will see the difference in sewing with a firm fabric and a soft drapery wool blend fabric.
